My favorite memory of Valentine’s Day from when I was a kid is sending and receiving Valentines in our handmade Valentine boxes. Now there are so many more options than a shoe-box covered in paper and doilies! Kids use miniature versions of real mailboxes, felt heart-shaped envelopes, and decorated gift bags for their class Valentine exchange. It doesn’t matter what the Valentine’s are dropped into as they’re passed out to each student, we all know kids are waiting to see who sent them a Valentine, and if there’s anything cool attached to it. Through the years we’ve attached heart-shaped play-dough, clay key chains, candy, and stickers with the kids’ Valentines. This year I thought it would be cute to create a Valentine that encourages kids to be creative. Here is what my tiny dancer will be giving out at her big sister’s class Valentine exchange!
