One of my favorite things about summer is the food. I love a cool, refreshing treat on a hot summer night or a deliciously grilled meal with friends — and it’s all the better when it’s a sugar free summer treat! I’ve compiled this list of our family’s favorite summer treats, as well as ones that are on our list to enjoy. Be sure to let me know which ones you enjoy, and leave a link to your favorites!
Sugar Free Summer Drinks & Treats
- Strawberry Lemonade Popsicles (my personal favorite, as this hits my pregnancy cravings for this month)
- Strawberry Banana Frozen Yogurt (we’re having this on Father’s Day for hubby!)
- Mango Pineapple Sorbet (please note, if you’re a THM, this recipe is not for you…but it IS free of artificial sugars and contains only whole foods, so we serve it to the kids gladly and they love us for it!)
- Cherry Ice Cream Bars (anything by Gwen’s Nest is sure to be AH-mazing, but these are simply mouth-watering!)
- Healthy Rocket Popsicles (remember bomb pops? Now you THMers can enjoy this classic treat with a twist)
- Creamy Lemon Ice Cream (another baby craving for me that I can indulge in guilt-free…you gotta try it!)
- Pineapple Kale Smoothie (great refreshing breakfast!)
- Kiwi & Mint Infused Water (so refreshing…and perfect for sipping on the porch with your friends)
- Mint & Lemon Infused “Sweet” Tea (another one made for front porch visits)
- Cappuccino on the Rocks (THM friends: sub heavy cream and almond milk for the milk there for a yummy “S” dessert or treat)
Sugar Free Summer Meals & Sides
- Homemade BBQ Sauce: Sugar free, Paleo, THM, & Utterly Delicious
- Easy, Healthy Chicken Salad with Quinoa, Tomatoes, Lemon and Basil (tonight’s dinner…yummy!)
- Smoked Armadillo Eggs (like some heat? This is for you!)
- Greek Burgers (these have been a long time favorite in our family)
- Caprese Grilled Fish (this would also be crazy good with chicken!)
- Garlic Herb Marinated Chicken (classic and yummy)
- Chicken Fingers (made super healthy by a crunch, “deep fried” breading of toasted quinoa)
- Pineapple Marinated Chicken (don’t you just love a tropical treat in the summer?!)
- Four-Ingredient Grilled Corn Salad with Nonfat Chili-Lime Dressing (this is a big fave around here!)
- White Gazpacho (this chilled soup is perfect for a hot summer day)
- Rainbow Veggie Kabobs (I can’t wait to make these with the kiddos — they love colorful food!)
- Cucumber Noodles with Lemon Basil (now this sounds awesome to me; it’s on my menu plan for this month)
- Chilled Strawberry Soup (great with a light salad!)
- Veggies on the Grill (literally, just toss your veggies on there — look how easy it is!)
- Fresh Green Bean Salad (so pretty looking and sure to be delightful)
- Creamy Cucumber Salad (we just had this and it’s super easy and refreshing)
- Restaurant Style Guacamole (ooh, don’t you just love guac as a treat?!)
- And, of course, you need these Low Carb Tortilla Chips to pair with that yummy guac!
