Ice Cream Painting Activity for Kids
The theme for our free unit study this week is ice cream! Remember to check out the links after this post for more activities related to this week’s theme.
Today we’re making puffy paint cones with sprinkles to celebrate summer. I’m writing this art tutorial younger kids but I think tweens would love this activity too.
How long has it been since you’ve used puffy paints? I remember using them for diy tee shirts as a kid but haven’t used them in what feels like years. If you’ve been following my other unit study activities you know I love using pom poms in crafts for kids. The soft colorful pom poms make cute ice cream scoops to top our waffle cones! The puffy paints used in this craft is actually made for fabric but we didn’t have any problems using the paint on paper.
Kids think stamping with food is pretty funny, just make sure they don’t take a bite!
