Easy DIY Painted Heart Craft
We’re all about the love over here at The Moments at Home and hearts are the symbol of love right? My kids have been using their Kwik Stix to fill pads of paper with rainbows, bright sunny days and hearts. Recently Kwik Stix sent us their new Thin Stix and I knew my kids would need a special heart craft to try them out.
I ordered some heart shaped ornaments made out of wood that are also available at craft stores and had my preschooler paint them with her favorite colors. Kwik Stixs are the least messy paint option I have come across so she is able to use them freely. The colors are always bright and bold making them her go to art supply.
Painting the Hearts
The wooden hearts took the paint well and she enjoyed scribbling away on the hearts. With the paint still tacky (these paint sticks are solid tempra paint so they don’t really get wet) we sprinkled some glitter on each heart. I patted the glitter down a bit with my hand to make sure it was set in the paint.
Didn’t they turn out cute? And there was basically no mess! We displayed our hearts individually but a commenter on my Instagram pointed out that they would also make a pretty garland hung from a fireplace mantle. Looking for your own set of Kwik Stix paint? You can get them here or at Target stores.
