My favorite diy projects are the ones that cost little money and take little time. This project is both of those things and I’m really excited about the final result. I went to my local Dollar Store to see what kind of fall decorations they were selling when I came across these glass candlestick holders on an aisle away from their seasonal section. Inspiration hit and I headed home to make this cute candy dish set for our Thanksgiving desert table.
Supplies
- 2 Glass candle stick holders
- Green craft paint
- Twine
Directions
Pour a generous amount of green craft paint on a plate.
Place your glass candlestick holder in the paint. Wiggle the glass around a little to get paint all over the edges of the glass. You can take the candlestick holder out of the paint and dip it in again for more paint coverage. Use a dry paper towel to wipe up any paint that dripped from the edges of the glass.
Set your candlestick holders upright to dry. Once they’re completely dry dip the opposite end into the green paint. Let the paint dry.
Wrap twine around candlestick just near the base. You can tie the twine or glue it to keep it secured.
Flip the candlestick holders upside down so the wide base is on top. Fill with candy! We filled ours with candy corn because it seemed like the perfect fall treat. Place the candy dish set on a table when guests visit or on the desert table at your next family gathering!
